"On the Road to Ys, " is a landmark in Balletto di Bronzo's history, because it is the demo recording made by the band in 1971 at Phonogram studios Milan, featuring the embryonic versions of two songs that would later be merged into YS (Introduzione and Secondo Incontro), with English vocals, and arrangements that are quite different than the final tracks. However, these demos will convince Phonogram to offer the band a record deal. In 1972 they released YS. The rest is history.

Taken form master tapes, and remastered by Gianni Leone and Nicola di Gia in 2010. Also featuring a bonus track: an unreleased live version of "La tua casa comoda ".

Sirio 2222 (slight corner bump in cover) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/sirio-2222-slight-corner-bump-in-cover/ Sun, 13 Jul 2014 22:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/sirio-2222/ Raw-edged heavy rock, fronted by Lino Ajello's powerful electric guitars, channeling the dark, jagged energy of Jimmy Page, Adrian Gurvitz, and Jeff Beck. Il Balletto di Bronzo absorbed their influences (Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, The Yardbirds), but moved from there into an inspired, hard-edged musical space; the band's overwhelming power and great melodies make them irresistible. 'Un posto' and 'Neve Calda' are centered around simple but effective guitar riffs. 'Eh eh ah ah' starts like a nice mellow ballad, but gets into a hard blues rock groove.
On side two, there's the seven-minute mammoth heavy grind of 'Incantesimo' and the colossal 'Missione Sirio 2222,' almost ten minutes of droning acid rock with whirling guitars and heavy pounding drums, sandwiched between an acoustic intro and outro. No surprise then that Nurse With Wound cited Il Balletto di Bronzo as an influence. Original artwork, 12-page colour booklet. COVERS HAVE A VERY LIGHT BUMP IN ONE CORNER, NOT PERFECT.

YS (red) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/ys-red/ Mon, 10 Feb 2025 23:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/ys-red/ "YS" was nothing less than a unique masterpiece of the golden age of Italian progressive rock. Coming from the town of Naples, Balletto di Bronzo had already published in 1970 their debut "Sirio 2222", an ideal bridge among beat, prog and hard rock, when in '71 they were joined by keyboardist Gianni Leone, who completely revolutionized the sound of the band.

The following year "YS" fell like a bolt from the blue on the Italian music scene. The songwriting is always unsettling, extremely intricate and the sound is dark and dense at the same time. The tracks need several plays to be absorbed, but this effort reveals an extreme sense of gratification in the end.

This milestone of Italian Prog is now reissued in the usual LP-replica edited by Vinyl Magic, including the lyric insert which was present in the original '72.
