L’Aurora delle Orme (180gr)

One of the most important and loved Italian prog bands, and one of the most famous among foreign listeners.
Le Orme were another of those bands coming from the beat era that had the most convincing musical evolution in the 70’s.

They were formed in Marghera (nearVenice) in1966 but their debut came in 1967 with Fiori e colori, recorded by the original four-piece line-up. The band had a successful single with Senti l’estate che torna and recorded their first album Ad Gloriam at the end of 1968, releasing it the following year.

Housed in a psychy sleeve the album is still regarded as one of the best in the Italian beat, with the music having a slight psychedelic touch in songs like Io non so restare solo, Fumo, Milano 1968.
In 1970 the band signed a contract with Philips, that released their subsequent 10 albums in ten years. The old label Car Juke Box released L’Aurora, a compilation of their singles tracks that’s also very rare now. [source: www.italianprog.com].

Piccola Rapsodia dell’Ape

In 1980, while musical genres like punk and new wave were enjoying an incredible popularity and progressive rock seemed to be just an old faded memory, Le Orme, completely disinterested in following the trends of the moment, continued in the wake of popular/folk/baroque music with classical influences that started the previous year with the beautiful “Florian”.

The line-up remained the same, with the historical trio of Aldo Tagliapietra (cello, guitar, voice), Antonio Pagliuca (piano) and Micky Dei Rossi (vibraphone, marimba, glockenspiel, percussion) accompanied by the increasingly fundamental presence of Germano Serafin (violin, guitar, bouzouki, charango): in fact, all the LP songs also carry his signature, in addition to those of Pagliuca and Tagliapietra.

Serafin would shortly leave the group who, probably not just by coincidence, will then contaminate their sound with the synthetic artifacts typical of the 80’s. But that’s another story: “Piccola rapsodia dell’ape” remains a genuine album, another step in an unrepeatable and unparalleled artistic evolution.

VM label reissue on coloured vinyl, faithful to the original 1980 edition, with gatefold cover and inner envelope with song lyrics.

Felona And Sonora (ITA Version Clear Red) (DEL)

Third LP in three years and substantially third center in a row, this was “Felona and Sorona”, the definitive consecration record for Le Orme, who became dominators of the Italian progressive rock scene, a status that still resists the inexorable passing of the years. The long opener “Sospesi nell’incredibile” shows how rules have definitely been broken: “Felona and Sorona” can therefore be seen as a statement of freedom and artistic independence, waved in front of an even wider audience. In 1973 in fact the so-called ‘new avant-garde pop’ was so popular as to influence the famous artists (such as De André with “E tutti morimmo a stento” or Battisti with “Amore e non amore”) and many musicians were not afraid to break barriers, album after album. “Felona and Sorona” is, in short, a masterpiece, of those who are made only once in a lifetime, impossible to replicate and therefore even more unique and special. The album was released in two versions, one sung in Italian and the other in English on lyrics written by Peter Hammill from Van Der Graaf Generator. This is the Italian edition, a faithful replica of the original edition on clear blue vinyl.
