El \u00e1lbum debut de Telegraph Avenue muestra el punto culminante que hab\u00eda alcanzado el rock peruano en 1971, cuando grupos psicod\u00e9licos como Traffic Sound y Laghonia se retiraban de la escena, y Pax, Tarkus, El Polen y Zulu tomaban el relevo con sus nuevos proyectos. Aunque este \u00e1lbum bebe de fuentes similares de psicodelia y rock latino, sus ra\u00edces se entrelazan con la ruptura de Los Doltons, una banda beat, cuyo vocalista, C\u00e9sar Ichikawa, viaj\u00f3 a Estados Unidos a principios de 1969, asistiendo a conciertos de The Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Santana y Jimi Hendrix entre muchos otros.
