Flower Meg was a sexy dream pop icon of 70’s Japan fascinating the whole East first in late night television broadcasts, then as a model, actress and muse of Kaneto Shindo, and singer. The name Flower Meg means Flower of Meguro (the Tokyo district it came from). He begins by acting in the theater and with dance; then, still very young, in 1970 she made her appearance in the Go-Go Club show “Space Capsule” where she captured the attention of a well-known director who hired her as cover girl of the night television program “23 O’Clock Show”. At the age of 19 he made, for DAN, a branch of the historic Tokuma, the album “Sighs, Whispers and Anguish”, today a holy grail for collectors. A collection of classic ‘lollipos’ and à la page songs of the era interpreted with a crazy sexy whisper, accompanied by the Dan Pop’s Orchestra. Includes OBI and insert

Recorded in Florence in October 1979, “Asia” represents Egisto Macchi’s musical journey across the East. In this work, Macchi describes the many faces of Asia through his unmistakable, electric style. In Macchi’s music, Asia acquires mystical, religious, naturalist, sacred, and adventurous connotations. Acoustic instruments dominate this album; among percussion, zithers, celestas, flutes, marimbas, sansas, and violins, the listener embarks on a musical journey outside the limits of space and time.

An incredible first ever release of the legendary composer Egisto Macchi’s soundtrack for Mino Guerrini’s 1968 film, “Gangsters ’70”. Created in collaboration with Walter Branchi, Gruppo di Improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza, it’s among the most strikingly experimental of all his soundtrack work and remains startlingly urgent more than half a century down the road. This album has it all. Psychedelic jazz, free outings, insane flow, tension, energy, melodic beauty and a telephathis interaction.

Recorded in September 1975 at Columbia Studio, “Story Of Wind Behind Left” is a symphonic poem in the shape of a suite. In the album, Masahiko Togashi uses music to communicate the same feelings evoked by nature. The drummer demonstrates unique composition and performance skills in the way he imitates the sounds of nature or takes inspiration from nature itself to make music. With “Story Of Wind Behind Left,” Masahiko Togashi revolutionized the Japanese jazz scene. The record includes an insert with the original liner notes translated into English.

Tapestry: Koto & The Occident Sea

‘Tapestry: Koto’ is a 3-album series produced by Nippon Columbia in the mid-1970s dedicated to one of the main instruments of Japanese traditional music: Koto. The beauty of the trilogy curated by composer Kiyoshi Yamaya, whose chapters are respectively dedicated to Sea, Hillside and Country, lies in the fact that they are a modern translation of tradition using newer and more avant-garde sound idioms, integrating the koto with jazz musicians. An original mix, a ‘crossover’ that allows for the awakening and the consequential spread of traditional music in larger contexts.
The extreme accuracy of the marvellous recordings is also remarkable.
