SECOND PRESSING. Rita Lee of OS MUTANTES, and her friend Lúcia TurnBull first outside project, these recordings were done for PHILIPS in 1973. CILIBRINAS DO ÉDEN have played at OS MUTANTES show in MAY 1973, at Palácio de Convenções do Anhembi, in São Paulo. It was CILIBRINAS first gig. At this show Rita and Lúcia played with all the OS MUTANTES backline, the show appeared to be a psychedelic edge with Rita and Lúcia dressed like some outside Aliens for that time.

They also dressed coloured clothes and feathers like a progressive rock band. Never officially released in vinyl or CD, Now a group of Brazilian fans with European residence pick the recordings and put them in vinyl format.
This release contain also 2 rare outtakes from OS MUTANTES.
You will certainly dig this if you like Mutantes: these recordings are a mix of the psychedelic OS MUTANTES with some glam-rock freakness. Fantastic proffessionally remastered sound, unbelievable material for all the OS MUTANTES fans, and one of the best lost albums of Brazilian psychedelia!!!

The release of “Find Us A Way ” in May 1967 coincided with The La De Das’ first exploratory trip to Australia. This one is even better than the first lp , with more original compositions and a more mature soulful rock approach, including the snarling singles “Find Us a Way” and “All Purpose Low.” Its a more Mod and Beat Psychedelic related release, tracks like “Goodbye Sister” or “Thank You For The Flowers” are a good example of that. Its impressive record never reissued individualy in vinyl format. Grab it while you can, this is a very limited edition.

WARNING! This not an Afro Beat or Afro Rock compilation, the music on this record is strictly 60’s garage as you might expect of it!!! Dwarf, Ghost, Soul From Another world, it’s the African definition for CAZUMBI!

You probably always thought such countries, except South Africa, had nothing to contribute the 60’s garage scene…..but seems our little world still has virgin places for the obscure garage 45s diggers before going to Mars!!! Here you have a surprising compilation of very, very rare tracks taken from 45s released in Congo, Angola, Mozambique and South Africa.

Garage rock, garage surf, powerful 60’s R&B… an amazing collection with groups such as H20 (Mozambique) who had even carton boxes among their instruments, a rare track by the A-Cads, the incredibly rare Kriptons from Angola, an Italian sung (!!!) great cover of the Prunes’ “I had too much to dream” by Conjunto Oliveira Muge in Mozambique, the eerie French sung “Eh bien mon ami” by African Fiesta…

Nicely done release with remastered sound, and an insert with rare and obviously unseen photos and liners!

Absolutely stunning collection of 21 tracks, ranging from the more sophisticatedly produced (but hell, WILD!!!!) fuzzy garage sounds of South African groups like The Gonks, Birds of a Feather, Them or The Invaders, to the primitive raw garage, beat and jerk of Tall Emma & His Skipper (from Ghana with their killer Hammatan),Vum Vum and Os Rocks from Angola, Les Kilts from Cameroun, Les Safari and Les Jokers from Madagascar, and a good number of Mozambique combos.

This brilliant release comes with great artwork, and an insert is included with photos and information on some of the groups and the African 60’s rock scene. Limited vinyl release of 700 copies, and 500 papersleeve CDs. Fully remastered sound.

While national newspapers portrayed them as “hordes of sloppy, aggressive, be-jeaned louts and their girlfriends who cause so much trouble in South Africa”, a whole new generation of garage rockers was flooding the clubs with savage, primitive fuzz sounds. No doubt South Africa was the in-place in Mother Africa in the 60’s, with a strong scene as can be heard on the Cazumbi compilations and this new Zulu Stomp that is exclusively dedicated to that country. Soul Braza – Brazilian 60’s & 70’s Soul Psych

NOSMOKE RECORDS strikes again, this new compilation gonna make your summer even more hot .
As well as rock, soul music by the likes of James Brown, Otis Redding, and Aretha Franklin also had a big impact in the Brazilian music scene of the 60s.

Soul music was introduced in Brazil by singers such as Gerson King Combo, who released in 1969 the record Gerson Combo Brazilian Soul, featuring Brazilian hits like Asa Branca performed with a US-imported beat. Tim Maia, Carlos Dafé, and Tony Tornado started playing soul hits too and took on the attitude and style of US Black Power, establishing the Black Rio movement. The great muse of that period was Lady Zu from São Paulo.

Traces of the black US rhythm can also be detected in some of the first songs by Jorge Ben Jor (Agora Ninguém Mais Chora, Negro É Lindo, Que Nega É Essa), and, even more so, in others by Wilson Simonal during his Pilantragem phase (such as Mamãe Passou Açúcar em Mim, País Tropical, Tributo a Martin Luther King).

Other more obscure bands and artists also had their moment and importance in the history of Brazilian soul.
Musicians like O Incrivel Manito, The Pops, fusing soul, samba rock, and psychedelic music, Tony e Frankye, Trio Ternura, and, of course, a few others like Vanusa or Eduardo Araujo, who released some of the best Brazilian music records in the 60s and 70s.

This compilation is a summary of what went on during that dictatorship period when soul music was everywhere, from the favelas to the most fashionable and popular parties in Brazilian cities.

Here you will find some of the best tracks of Brazilian psychedelic soul music, a fusion of fuzz, sweat and dancing...
