Jamaica Calling – Live In Jamaica (Yellow)

All tracks recorded live at the Jamaica World Music Festival, which was held at the Bob Marley Centre, on 27th November, 1982. The Clash took the stage as part of the Jamaican World Music Festival in Montego Bay at or around 4:00 am, which was probably mid-day by their festivalling standards. They performed an hour-long, energetic, reggae-heavy set to pay tribute to their Jamaican influences. Peter Tosh took the stage next, and acts from Gladys Knight and the Pips to The Beach Boys were also on the bill.
Dig how the Clash melt “The Magnificent Seven” into “Armagideon Time” and then back again. Feel the lure of “Guns of Brixton.” Ease up and “Junco Partner” will knock you right down.

A Natural Woman… In Sweden

Mandatory scandinavian recordings for the queen of soul ! In 1968, she issued the top-selling albums Lady Soul and Aretha Now, which included some of her most popular hit singles, including “Chain of Fools”, “Ain’t No Way”, “Think” and “I Say a Little Prayer”. That February, Franklin earned the first two of her Grammys, including the debut category for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. In the same year, Franklin toured outside the US for the first time in May, including an appearance in Stockholm, from where this historic recording was taken.

How Sweet It Is Vol 1. Live At Capitol 78 (Blue)

Recorded on the 1978 tour promoting his Cats Under The Stars album, presented here is The Jerry Garcia Band live at The Capitol Theatre in Passaic, New Jersey. The early show from this evening was simulcast live on WNEW in New York City and has long been a staple of Garcia collections.
This particular JGB lineup included both Donna Jean Godchaux and Maria Muldaur on support vocals. This recording is also remarkable for John Kahn being so prominent in the mix, which gives listeners a fine opportunity to hear the telepathic musical relationship he established with Garcia during the years.

Wembley Arena 1990 Vol 1

Taken from the ‘No Prayer on the Road’ tour, this setlist was recorded at the iconic Wembley Arena on 17the December 1990.This tour marked the arrival of a new guitarist, Janick Gers, who replaced Adrian Smith. Following their large-scale stages used during the 1980s, the band opted for a less complicated production for this tour, with bassist Steve Harris commenting: ‘We thought Seventh Son… the show was just a bit hard to control. I mean, the real Eddie and the backdrops I thought were amazing, but the giant icebergs and stuff were a bit cheesy, I think, and we just wanted to keep all that out and turn it into a gig like a massive club performance again, which we really managed to do. And having Janick in the band kicked everyone more than necessary up the arse, too, because, being new, he was so enthusiastic about everything. I think he made us open our eyes a bit and see things in a new way.’

Early Live in Germany in Soest, Germany, in Winter

Those were the days ! Right before the definitive incarnation of the man-machine and all along the ocean of sound also known as kraut rock. An early line-up of the Dusseldorf legend consisting of the two original members Ralf Hütter (organ) and Florian Schneider-Esleban (flute, violin, vibraphone, electronics) augmented by future Neu! drummer and motorik engineer Klaud Dinger. From here to eternity !

A Red Light In Cardiff Vol.1 (Pink)

Recorded live at the St.Davis Hall, Cardiff, on June the 21st 1984, this astonishing performance by the goth princess and her cohorts was part of their Hyæna Tour. Hyæna was the band’s sixth studio album released earlier the same month and the only record to feature guitarist Robert Smith of the Cure.

Rome, What Difference Does It Makes? (Orange)

Although the Smiths were a beloved band in Italy, they had the misfortune to play live only once. A single concert, the one at the Teatro Tendastrice in Rome on May 14, 1985, during the Meat Is Murder tour. A spring Tuesday that would go down in history. The Manchester band would later pass through Italy for two appearances, but only on television. The first – at the Sanremo festival at the PalaRock – and then, between 9 and 10 March, they took the stage at the 1987 Spring Festival. Shortly thereafter, in August 1987, Johnny Marr would leave the group. To make a long story short, this performance is quintessential and a must have for all of the die-hard supporters !
