The possibilities offered by the recording studio seemed more congenial to their proposal, which turns out to be a deeply matured LP, technically flawless and with songs that still belong to the best Italian jazz-rock, with a more intense jazz component at the expense of the progressive one.
Unfortunately, both "Agora 2" and the single "Cavalcata Solare" taken from this work were almost completely ignored, in a period in which the vast universe that revolves around the Italian progressive was slowly decaying.
The Atlantic label, also due to a very poor familiarity with the Italian bands and scene, didn't renew Agorà's contract and the group disbanded after a final appearance at the Parco Lambro Festival in 1976, with their various members that dispersing in many other jazz bands, in some cases up to the present day.
"Agorà 2" still sounds wonderfully today, and deserves a respectable place within a serious Italian progressive rock discography. The album is here reissued on LP for the first time ever, in a faithful reproduction of the original edition of '76.

Lesbo (O.S.T) (with DE MASI, Francesco) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/lesbo-o-s-t-with-de-masi-francesco/ Wed, 26 Mar 2025 23:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/lesbo-o-s-t-with-de-masi-francesco/ "Lesbo" is a 1969 erotic film directed by Edoardo Mulargia, his only experiment in this genre within a filmography mostly focused on Western films and sentimental/romantic comedies. Calling "Lesbo" an underground film is practically an understatement, as no official home video releases of this movie seem to exist; its soundtrack instead has luckily survived to the present day and, given the caliber of its two composers, it could only be a terrific work.
The friendship between Francesco De Masi and Alessandro Alessandroni is even more dated than the artistic partnership that was later born between the most famous spaghetti western whistle and Morricone, and "Lesbo" is 'only' one of the various collaborations between these two composers.
Introduced as usual by a sensual theme sung by a seducing female voice, this warm and Mediterranean-flavoured soundtrack has numerous variations with a romantic/symphonic, lounge, even jazz taste, with some typically 'Morriconian' moments of tension too.
An extremely varied work, therefore, of which in 1969 - the year the film was released in theaters - only eight tracks were published on the single side of an LP containing, in addition to the soundtrack of "Lesbo", also that of "L'amore questo sconosciuto" on side B. Recently reissued with the addition of numerous bonus tracks, it is here in its full version - 24 tracks! - on vinyl for the first time ever.

The album is very well made, mainly based on Hammond organ and other keyboards, with good instrumental parts with an outstanding second part. A must-have for lovers of Italian prog!
Finally in gatefold sleeve faithful to the original version.
180gr. clear transparent vinyl edition.

YS (red) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/ys-red/ Mon, 10 Feb 2025 23:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/ys-red/ "YS" was nothing less than a unique masterpiece of the golden age of Italian progressive rock. Coming from the town of Naples, Balletto di Bronzo had already published in 1970 their debut "Sirio 2222", an ideal bridge among beat, prog and hard rock, when in '71 they were joined by keyboardist Gianni Leone, who completely revolutionized the sound of the band.

The following year "YS" fell like a bolt from the blue on the Italian music scene. The songwriting is always unsettling, extremely intricate and the sound is dark and dense at the same time. The tracks need several plays to be absorbed, but this effort reveals an extreme sense of gratification in the end.

This milestone of Italian Prog is now reissued in the usual LP-replica edited by Vinyl Magic, including the lyric insert which was present in the original '72.

Riflessioni: idea d’infinito (Green) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/riflessioni-idea-dinfinito-green/ Tue, 20 Sep 2022 22:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/riflessioni-idea-dinfinito-green/ Faithful reissue of one of Italian Prog greatest releases, on 180gr. clear green vinyl packaged in a faithful reproduction of the original gatefold sleeve.
Dalton's original line-up included three musicians, Aronne Cereda, Giancarlo Brambilla (on bass and then keyboards) and Rino Limonta, coming from a group called I Puritani, that also included two future members of Pholas Dactylus, Valentino Galbusera and Giampiero Nava.
They released a very good debut album entitled "Riflessioni: idea d'infinito" that displays a great use of flute and good guitar riffs, with an inspired songwriting. The song "Idea d'infinito" shows some Jethro Tull influences, and is one of the best tracks together with "Riflessioni" and the closing "Dimensione lavoro", while "Cara Emily" is a slow acoustic ballad.
The band had a moderate success and even won the first prize in a swiss Pop Festival in Zurich, released a second LP in 1975 ("Argitari") and then disbanded for a long time, before coming back in recent years thanks to the initiative of singer/guitarist Aronne Cereda.

Io non so da dove vengo (green) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/io-non-so-da-dove-vengo-green/ Sun, 02 Mar 2025 23:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/io-non-so-da-dove-vengo-green/ Look for "De De Lind" on the internet and you will find mainly two results: those related to a Playboy magazine model very much in vogue in the '60s, and those concerning the eponymous Italian progressive rock meteor band. The long title of the album "Io non so da dove vengo e non so dove mai andrò, uomo è il nome che mi hanno dato" (I do not know where I come from and where ever I'll go, Man is the name I've been given) already anticipates the philosophical/existential lyrical content of the songs: seven tracks that develop between acoustic sensations and hard-rock guitar riffs for nearly forty minutes, culminating in the ending climax of the final track "E poi".

A band that surely deserved more success at the time - their LP was released in 1973 - but that was largely ignored, apart from a modest, mostly negative review appeared on Ciao 2001 magazine. Only recently De De Lind and their only record have been re-evaluated, and they're now considered a fundamental piece in the Italian progressive scene. It takes just the first notes of the initial "Fuga e morte" to realize that we're in front of a great musical work.

This edition is a faithful replica of the original LP in gatefold format.

America Giovane https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/america-giovane/ Wed, 08 Jul 2020 22:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/america-giovane/ At the end of the '60s in Italy - but also abroad, especially in France and England - a very particular trend began to spread, that one known as 'Library music' or 'sonorization': as suggested by its name, those were real music libraries intended for the accompaniment of audiovisual productions such as television programs, advertisements, documentaries and films. Since they were created in total artistic freedom condition, they are often difficult if not impossible to catalog, as they're not anchored to a specific musical genre; this freedom also allowed the authors to compose, sometimes in the most complete anonymity, experimental and avant-garde music, capable of anticipating the sounds that only many years later would have been widespread on a larger scale.
Remigio Ducros, pianist and composer, author of about 20 library music LP's, with "America Giovane" (Young America) produces a heterogeneous compendium of musical genres coming from the United States, that could perfectly fit as an accompaniment to the '60s/70s hippie gatherings and events. Country (Country Feeling, On the West Road), funk (Black Not Coloured), blues (Ride On, Village Blues, State of Harlem), soul/r&b (Black Congregation), southern rock (Rock - H), psychedelic-tinged prog (The New Phylosophy), hard rock (Hendrix Memento, Campus Sit In), plus three songs for solo armonica (Week-end Down Town, Sunday in Central Park) and flute (Lonesome Voice).

After the band split, the bass player Callero went to Il Volo, and drummer Lo Previte played in Nova. Duello Madre was a sort of superband, as it featured Marco Zoccheddu from Nuova Idea and Osage Tribe, Bob Callero - also from Osage Tribe - and drummer Dede Lo Previte from Circus 2000, along with sax and flute player Pippo Trentin. The great musicianship of the four-piece is evident throughout the album. Aquile blu, with uncredited vocals (probably by guitarist Zoccheddu) and nice sax solos is the best track, and Momento has a nice hypnotic bass pattern.

Topi O Uomini (Clear Red) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/topi-o-uomini-clear-red/ Mon, 10 Feb 2025 23:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/topi-o-uomini-clear-red/ The Sicilians Flea debuted in 1971 under the name Flea on the Honey with an album strongly inspired by the British pop-psych scene. The band's line-up includes the two brothers Agostino (drums) and Antonio Marangolo (vocals and keyboards), Carlo Pennisi (guitar, vocals) - all of them would later join the legendary horror score masters Goblin! - and Elio Volpini (bass, vocals, saxophone), who then played in L'Uovo di Colombo.
If the debut album can be considered at least partly raw and derivative, albeit well produced and structured, with "Topi o Uomini" Flea unleash their creativity in a beautiful album, which opens with the twenty-minute title-track, a song characterized by stunning robustness and consistency, that crosses over hard rock, blues and psychedelic territories with remarkable smoothness. The quartet's inventiveness goes even further on the second side of the record, especially with the track "Sono un pesce" (I am a fish), distinguished by dreamy acoustic atmospheres mixed with jazz-tinged improvisations.
A unique and unrepeatable album, reissued on transparent red vinyl with faithful reproduction of the original artwork.
