But... who the hell is Cristian de Moret? Passion, groove, rehearsal, feeling, funk, loop, desire, error, lysergy, digitalism, Andalusia, stroboscopy, heat, frying, heel, atmosphere. The words will not order themselves. Neither does the music. Once the 20th century was over, we all waited for this moment. The moment in which shoots of new species different from everything emerged from the roots of flamenco. A new tradition. New textures, flavors and colors.

New ways of understanding creativity. Without equating it to contemporary phenomena because we would create a conjectural and aesthetic problem. Without the conceptual imbalance of picaresque art, also very contemporary and Spanish. Breaking the bottle of essences so that flamenco imbues the technology and skill of a virtuoso multi-instrumentalist. The new paradigm. A single human is already capable of recreating the entire scene and that triggers risk and creativity. Just listen to this album. Supernova is a step towards the future of flamenco.

Our commitment to pressing it on vinyl is just the desire to preserve this legacy for future generations. A new cornerstone for a new flamenco world where orthodoxy and heterodoxy take new paths linked by synthetic currents of digital fluids. The answer to the initial question. Cristian is a discovery, he does not cause indifference. This is the first step for him when he is already on the second. The future is in his hands, keeps twisting it please.

Port Said Music Of The Middle East

Lebanese tenor, lute player and conductor Mohammed El-Bakkar became a star in Egypt, where he appeared in several Arabic-language films. In 1952 he moved to the United States, where he played a singing oriental rug salesman in the Broadway play Fanny. Port Said was his first LP, a magnificent piece of world music whose oriental flavors will make the perfect soundtrack to your belly dancing evenings. Six more volumes followed in his Music Of The Middle East series, which brought the Middle Eastern musical tradition to the United States, one of the first long-playing records to do so, sparking a frenzy for what has become the world music genre.

The apparition of Spanish female duo Las Grecas with their Gipsy-Rock sound in the 70s created quite a boom in the Spanish market at the time and paved the way for other similar gipsy-rock duos. Morena y Clara were one of them. Launched by bizarre flamenco producer Lauren Postigo, they released a string of 45s and three LPs (highly sought after now) for the Discophon label. They mixed Rumba, Flamenco, Psychedelic Rock, Funk and Disco Music featuring an amazing production (heavy drums, fuzz-wah-phaser electric guitars, Moog, Hammond) over the wild flamenco female vocals of the duo. Featuring their psychotronic hits like “No llores más”, “Dejé de quererte”, “Buscando alegría” and more.

One of the biggest names of the Spanish 70’s underground, Smash came from Seville and featured the well-known guitarist Gualberto who also found fame with later solo albums. Of the two longplays released by Smash, “La glorieta de los lotos” is the first of them. It was originally released in 1970 and mixes psychedelia with Andalusian roots. A very rare album, now available again on Orange & Black vinyl.

Eternos Triana (2LP) (White)

This year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the formation of Triana and to celebrate this event, the publication of a compilation album on November 8th is announced, which includes new mixes of all their classics. These mixes have updated their sound while maintaining the original essence and making it sound completely up-to-date five decades later.
“Eternos Triana” contains 17 essential songs from a group that made history in Spanish music and whose legacy is still more alive than ever, crossing generations and reaching a new generation of artists who passionately claim the sound of the Sevillian group.
There has not been any group or artist that has defined the concept of Andalusian “rock” better than Triana. A sound, a repertoire and an aesthetic that drank from Anglo progressive rock (Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes) to mix it with a millennial flamenco culture rooted in the DNA of the three members of the group (Jesús de la Rosa, Eduardo Rodríguez Rodway and Juan Jose Palacios).
“Eternos Triana” is a well-deserved tribute to the place that the Sevillian group occupies in the history of Spanish culture and will be published on November 8 in several editions, including this double white LP.
