Influential Detroit band Destroy All Monsters mashed up punk, garage and noise rock, their atypical work notably influencing Sonic youth’s Thurston Moore. By the time of their first recordings, the group included pedigree members such as guitarist Ron Asheton of the Stooges and bassist Mike Davis of the MC5, as well as drummer Rob King, apoplectic vocalist Niagara, and assorted friends. Bored is a must-have compilation that brings together their early singles from the late 1970s, including ‘You’re Gonna Die,’ ‘Nov 22’, ‘Meet The Creeper,’ ‘What Do I Get?’ and the outstanding title track that began their acceleration.

Doctor Explosión, leading Spanish 60s garage-punk act since the mid nineties, is back with a surprise. A remake of one of the most remarkable early tracks of the band, “Baby please go” (Veste’n si us plau), and a cover of James Brown “I’ll go grazy” (Perdo l’esma) the way Catalan 60s band Eurogrup adapted in the mid 60s, and both tracks sung in perfect Catalan language – well, Barcelona’s accent, that’s fine…

We are very pleased to join the band’s own label Circo Perrotti for this co-produced 45, like old friends meeting again after ages!

Comes in a great cover artwork copying the original Eurogrup 7″, and it’s limited to 500 numbered copies.

Since their inception in Tokyo in 2005, The Fadeaways have not just played music; they’ve orchestrated a garage punk rock revolution, deeply infused with the raw energy of ’60s garage punk and ’70s punk trash. The trio are a spectacle of high energy, garage, pop, and punk music brilliance, dressed in matching ’60s Europop-inspired outfits that scream style as loud as their music.
Each show is an adrenaline-fueled experience where Toyozo (vocals and bass) often finds himself leaping onto the kick drum, belting out tunes while perched atop the heaving drum. Ozzy (drums) isn’t one to stay behind, melding his drumming with astonishing handstands on his kit. And Assman (guitar) embodies the spirit of Japanese rock, leaping through the air and, in one unforgettable moment, skulling a bottle of Asahi handed to him by an audience member–all without missing a beat on his guitar.

Tony Matura was one of the leaders of the mighty THE OPTIC NERVE band in NYC by the end of the 80s.

Here re-visits his roots and re-recorded 6 songs he wrote in 1979/1980 for his first band, Secret Subway. It’s a 7″, 33RPM EP. Clear red vinyl and limited to 100 copies only!!!
“The songs on this EP were written circa 1979-1980 for my first band that made it out of the garage, Secret Subway. On vocals was Timmy Jamison, bass Phil Vagabond, drums Buddy Cullen & me on guitar. We were kids from Queens, NY (Rego Park & Astoria) where Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, and Jethro Tull were king. Punk was a dirty word. It was risky walking down the street wearing safety pins or a Sex Pistols shirt.

In the spring of 1978, we started riding the subway to a secret new world, downtown NYC. We immersed ourselves in the scene: hanging out on St. Mark’s Place and going to punk shops and record stores. Soon after-ward, we got fake IDs (not that you needed them) and started going to clubs: CBGB’s, Max’s Kansas City, Irving Plaza & uptown to Hurrah. On any given night, you had a chance to see a great band!

It was at Hurrah, opening for The Damned, that we first saw the relatively unknown Lodi, NJ band The Misfits. They quickly became one of our favorite bands and their horror-themed punk esthetic influenced the writing of the song “Nightmare”. In early 1980, Secret Subway recorded a demo tape that included “Nightmare”. Thinking about it, it could be the very first song recorded that was directly inspired by The Misfits. An updated version is on this EP.

These tracks were recorded by Chip Fabrizi at PPI Studio on Mercer Street in Soho, NY with my great friends Frank Max on bass, and Robert Pinnock on drums. I hope you enjoy.”

Viajando con Las Ratas Sicodelicas (Groovie Records/El Gato Salvaje Records 2024). Here is the debut album of this garage punk trio from Argentina released by Groovie Records (Portugal) and El Gato Salvaje Records (Argentina). There are 14 explosive songs where you can see the influences of 60s garage punk and 80s revival but with lyrics in Spanish. Their compositions sound like Music Machine, passing through Los Yorks (Peru) or The Cynics, but the rats dare to go a little further with their song “No te persigas” a la Velvet underground style or the raw cover of the classic “Keep on running” sung by Oscar Hechomierda (Bass), a true bizarre piece. Turn up the volume on your turntable and enjoy the insane sound of Las Ratas Sicodelicas!
Las Ratas Sicodelicas were born by the union of three friends who got together to break the great boredom that unleashed the 2020 pandemic. With a musical mutation where they use their long experience in garage punk to give place to the Latin American beat and psychedelia, all their songs are sung in Spanish. These psychedelic rodents are: Rolando Bruno, Oscar Hechomierda and Pablo Bam Bam, all with past and present in the Los Peyotes garage punk group from Buenos Aires Argentina. They have a 7″ vinyl with 2 songs released by Groovie Records (Portugal) and an incoming LP.
