It sold out almost instantly, putting them on the map to rock n roll oblivion, from which there is no turning back.
Inspired by the seminal likes of Bowie, T. Rex, Suzi Quatro and The Sweet, West Midlands based Bobbie Dazzle's debut album Fandabidozi is an invigorating rush of massive tunes, infectious riffs and bright-eyed pop-rock bombast. As an antidote to the enervating negativity that surrounds us at this moment in history, it could hardly be more perfect.
A celebratory ten-song time warp that plunders the '70s and drags them kicking and screaming into the here and now, Fandabidozi is absolutely guaranteed to put smiles on faces. From the hard rockin' riot of the opening Lightning Fantasy, to the pop-psych perfection of the closing Flowers On Mars, the first Bobbie Dazzle album works hard to lighten up our lives. Brash and heavy on the classic glam shuffle of Revolution, and deliriously anthemic on the fiery debut single: Back To The City, it covers a huge amount of musical ground while staying true to the principles of '70s glam rock: big riffs, bigger hooks and a prevailing sense that listeners have been hurled into a spinning kaleidoscope of pure euphoria.

At The Gallop (CD) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/at-the-gallop-cd/ Tue, 20 Dec 2016 23:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/at-the-gallop-cd/ Initially self-released in 1975 by the Drumcondra, Dublin-based Cromwell, At The Gallop is a blistering, heavy, loud'n'lascivious ten track offering (thirteen in this expanded edition) of proto-metal infused street rock'n'roll from a time when Ireland was still under the sway of conservative showbands, quasi-religious, sentimental pop pap and traditional Irish music.

Despite their cultural struggles, Cromwell crafted a creative and compact catalog--five fuzzed'n'ferocious 45s and this footlong--led by co-vocalist/bassist Michael Kiely's come hither coo and fey Jagger pose'n'preen, the in-the-pocket drumming of Derek Dawson and minor-guitar hero moves of Patrick Brady, exercising taste, talent and towering mountains of fuzz'n'fury as comfortably as greasy '70s raunch and rural modes. At The Gallop is a rare--fetching upwards of 400EUR when the original LP does appear--little heard classic in the pub/ fried rock'n'roll /proto-punk terrain.

RIYL: Teenage Head/Flamingo-era Flamin' Groovies, Mott The Hoople, '70s Stones, pre-punk American street rock and the Bonehead Crunchers series.

* First time reissue, including bonus tracks from the group's rare singles.

* Insert featuring rare photos and in-depth liner notes by Jeremy Cargill (Got Kinda Lost Records / Ugly Things Magazine).

"Emerging from the giant shadow cast by the greatness of Thin Lizzy, this obscure band with a venomous guitar attack, and dual vocalists that kick ass and take names, puts the 'ire' in Ireland and delivers with a sound that's not for the squeamish"
- Rich Haupt (Rockadelic Records / The Acid Archives)

Tracklist:

1. Ireland (The Wild One)
2. Down On The Town
3. First Day
4. You Got It Made
5. At The Gallop
6. Guinness Rock
7. Hoodwinked (Instrumental)
8. Nothing Left To See
9. Deal Me In
10. Dawson's Fun Palace
11. Stomp Stomp Stomp*
12. You Hate It To Turn*
13. Guinness Rock (45 Version)*

*Bonus Tracks

Bye Bye Bad Days https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/bye-bye-bad-days/ Mon, 05 Jun 2023 22:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/bye-bye-bad-days/ The second and final installment in our HECTOR reissue campaign. After their stunning debut failed to chart, surely the public would picked up on the even catchier 1974 follow-up, "Bye Bye Bad Days", a song for the COVID era we now inhabit if ever there was one. Nope. Never fear, we're doing what we always do, shining a light on an overlooked gem that deserves heard again. HECTOR came and went and left us two utterly perfect singles, and for that, we forever grateful. Remastered with a huge sonic improvement over the original 1974 pressing which was very noisy.

Wired Up https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/wired-up/ Mon, 05 Jun 2023 22:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/wired-up/ It's a dream to release not one, but both iconic singles by Junkshop glam titans HECTOR. First up is their debut from '73, "Wired Up". In a perfect world, this would have topped the charts and The Osmonds would have struggling to make ends meet. Alas, it is a well known fact that quality cannot be shoved down the public's throat. In spite of loads of coverage in the teen mags and even TV appearances - fame and fortune were not in the cards for HECTOR. "Wired Up" goes for the jugular from the get-go with that throbbing single note riff pulverizing your senses. How can a song this incredibly catchy not be a smash? Politics, and the fickle whims of the BBC, who never gave the record a chance. See TREVOR WHITE's masterpiece "Crazy Kids" for another sterling example that the world isn't fair. Here it is available again for the first time since 1973 in it's original format, our fave, the almighty 7" 45 rpm single. Enjoy, true believers. Remastered and sounding better than the original 1973 pressing which was honestly noisy and not perfect.

Actress: The Birth of The New York Dolls https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/actress-the-birth-of-the-new-york-dolls/ Tue, 11 Mar 2025 23:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/actress-the-birth-of-the-new-york-dolls/ Raunchy glam band New York Dolls were the epitome of rock 'n' roll's excess, prefacing punk's rougher edges. Recorded in October 1971, when the group was still known as Actress, this essential LP is culled from demos cut before David Johansen and Sylvain Sylvain joined the group; along with two raw alternates of 'It's Too Late,' there are eight otherwise unknown examples of their musical mayhem, as heard on 'Why Am I Alone' and guitar killer, 'Coconut Grove.' This is required listening for all Dolls fans, and especially Johnny Thunders devotees.
