Studio musician Keith Forsey on drums (Hallelujah/Amon Düül II), Bass genius Lothar Meid (Amon Düül II), Jörg Evers (guitar) from Embryo and American - German guitar talent Klaus Ebert on lead guitar born out of the prolific Munich music scene. Famous German music magazine Sounds praised the album as a landmark, a pioneering feat, and came to the euphoric conclusion that German popmusic has only just begun! The idea behind 18 Karat Gold seems to have been to present a Krautrock influenced musical direction of english icons like David Bowie as Ziggy Stardust, Roxy Music and perhaps T. Rex and Slade, who partly played a very mainstream, but at the same time sophisticated pop sound, also surnamed Glam - Rock. Listen to it and you will know that it sounds great! Stunning instrumentals, catchy pop songs and gaudy rock numbers, the ocassional cosmic murmur á la Amon Düül II satisfy all musical requests. Don't miss this legendary album! " Limited edition " Gold cover "

Altona https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/altona/ Thu, 11 Jan 2024 23:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/altona/ For the first time reproduced on vinyl and with original cover art Altona's eponymous first album " 1974 " is a real gem. Founded by former Thrice Mice members singer and sax player Karl Heinz Blumenberg and guitarist Werner von Gosen Altonas first album could be traced as ,,Thrice Mice deluxe" with still marked ties to Blodwyn Pig. Their musical elaboration shows a much bigger potential and let the band come forward on a higher musical step. The concept of developing a piece of music within processes of group dynamics, which had been so successful with Thrice Mice, was continued. The Freeman Brothers (A Crack in the Cosmic Egg) characterized the album as a hybrid of Birth Control and Creative Rock, occasionally hinting at Eiliff LP comes with insert (Band story and photos). The music is remastered from the original mastertapes. A secret tip!

First Key https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/first-key-2/ Thu, 11 Jan 2024 23:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/first-key-2/ For the first time as a reissue on vinyl: The first and eponymous album of classical rock influenced great German krautrockers Amos Key. Amos Key owed great debts to Bach, Beethoven and Schumann, adding a heavy krautrock twist to a music closely resembling the Nice or Egg, full of angst and weird psychedelic and space-rock touches (Freeman Brothers: In A Crack In The Cosmic Egg). Amos Key lived in Munich and consisted of great organ-player Thomas Molin, congenial bass-player Andreas Gross and superb drummer Lutz Ludwig. This fairly competent outfit recorded the album on label "Spiegelei" just after they recorded their radio sessions (Amos Key, Keynotes, The Lost Tapes, SWF Session 1973, Long Hair, LHC 90). Sadly bandleader and organ-player Thomas Molin passed away in the 90ies but bass-player Andreas Gross tells the band story in a very vivid and funny way. Insert contains also a lot of photos. Sound is perfect; remastered from the original tape. Very great stuff! Don't miss it.

Remastered from the original mastertapes. The seven-piece band formed in 1967 as a beat group called Ambition Of Music. In 1970, working with a local trombone choir led to a dramatic change of direction. Trombone, clarinet, saxophone, scat-like vocals, various percussion, even a bicycle pump or a guitar played below the bridge found their way into the band. Annexus Quam mixed two musical genres: rock and free jazz, but the group played both differently from what could be heard otherwise at that time. Elements of psychedelic rock with heavy organ sounds were combined with freely dabbed brass notes; at the same time the band was closer to Stockhausen's concept of "Intuitive Music" than to the expressive group improvisations of free jazz musicians.

The seven-piece band formed in 1967 as Ambition Of Music; they were what was then called a "beat group". In 1970, working with a local trombone choir led to a dramatic change of direction. Trombone, clarinet, saxophone, scat-like vocals, various percussion, even a bicycle pump or a guitar played below the bridge found their way into the band. The ensemble mixed two musical genres: rock and free jazz, elements of psychedelic rock with heavy organ sounds were combined with freely dabbed brass notes. There are hardly any formal structures in the band's music; the musicians control the ensemble sound intuitively by concentrated listening to each other. Despite all freedom, the pieces remain comprehensible. The album was produced by Julius Schittenhelm in 1970 and comes now remastered.

Voyage Cerebral https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/voyage-cerebral/ Wed, 14 Jun 2017 22:00:00 +0000 http://guerssen.hl1097.dinaserver.com/product/voyage-cerebral/ "1979 follow-up to his Eclipse debut, Voyage Cerebral was the second effort by french synthetist Didier Bocquet. Like the first album, it was recorded on his own private studio and self-released, this time via legendary french custom label FVLM ("Faites Le Vous-Même", meaning "Do It Yourself"). Inspired by the first wave of german kosmische sound-travellers (Klaus Schulze and Tangerine Dream and the whole Berlin School spring inmediately to mind) but retaining that typical french urgency that places it close to Heldon / Pinhas, Lard Free or even Besombes / Rizet territory. In-your-face sequenced electronic music that sounds both spacy and violent at the same time whilst keeping a certain lo-fi, self produced vibe. Recommended to fans of all things "kosmische" and synth music in general."

Psychonaut (LP+CD) https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/psychonaut-lpcd/ Sun, 27 Jun 2010 22:00:00 +0000 https://wpguerssen-test.odoo.rgbconsulting.com/product/psychonaut-lpcd/ 1972's Psychonaut, by the Swiss-based Brainticket, is early seventies space rock at its finest. While the band's debut album, 1971's Cottonwoodhill, was a heavily acid-laden affair dominated by droning organ, disturbing vocals and a collection of cacophonic sound effects (causing it to carry a warning label and be banned in several countries) for their second effort, band-founder Joël Vandroogenbroeck brought in a completely new line-up and changed the band's sound dramatically.

While Psychonaut still takes listeners into the realm of altered consciousness--making heavy use of a droning Hammond, sitar, tablas, etc.--this time the vocals are more melodic and the music itself is more song-oriented. This is by far Brainticket's most accessible album, and perhaps their most timeless. Fully remastered from the original master tapes!

Brainticket's 1971 debut, Cottonwoodhill, begins normally enough with two fine psychedelic / kraut rock-influenced tracks, but the remainder of the album plays like an acid trip with a soundtrack, dominated by Joel Vandroogenbroeck's endless droning organ, a variety of musique concrète-type sound effects and vocalist Dawn Muir's trippy vocals.
The album, banned in several countries, even came with this self-imposed warning: "After Listening to this Record, your friends may not know you anymore." / "Only listen to this once a day, your brain might be destroyed!".
