‘Easter Everywhere’ was The 13th Floor Elevators second album. Widely regarded as the band’s finest, the album captures them before the drug abuse, mental health problems and run-ins with the law that lead to their premature demise took hold. This 2-disc edition features the original mono album plus the original stereo version newly remastered. The latter is different to the alternative stereo version used on the ‘Sign Of The Three Eyed Men’ boxset and disc 2 also features a bonus track. The recordings were remastered and remixed from the original tapes in 2007 by original producer Walt Andrus and presented in a luxury digibook limited edition of 5,000 copies with a detailed 16-page booklet written by band expert Paul Drummond. “Their masterpiece. Easter Everywhere is an all-time higher key document. With a measured Erickson vocal and a blissful Sutherland solo, ‘Slip Inside This House’ is eight minutes of constant build: the guide for a new enlightenment. The rest isn’t bad either…” MOJO

Guitar driven psychedelic hard-rock, heavy blues and proto-metal by this power-trio from Southampton.

This is their sought-after album from 1975.

Agnes Strange was a bluesy hard-rock trio active during the mid-1970s. The band consisted of John Westwood on guitar and vocals, Alan Green on bass and vocals, and Dave Rodwell on drums/vocals.

In 1975, they released their sole album, ‘Strange Flavour’, on the small BirdsNest label, linked to a chain of pubs / brewing firm. The album showcased their blend of hard-rock, blues and experimental / psychedelic influences, drawing comparisons to bands like Status Quo, Budgie, and Hawkwind. Despite their energetic style and musical talent, the album did not achieve significant commercial success. It’s clear that some other labels like Vertigo or Harvest would have been a better home for them.

Agorà 2 (red vinyl)

After the moderate success of the debut album “Live in Montreux”, Agorà published their first and only studio work in 1976. The possibilities offered by the recording studio seemed more congenial to their proposal, which turns out to be a deeply matured LP, technically flawless and with songs that still belong to the best Italian jazz-rock, with a more intense jazz component at the expense of the progressive one.
Unfortunately, both “Agora 2” and the single “Cavalcata Solare” taken from this work were almost completely ignored, in a period in which the vast universe that revolves around the Italian progressive was slowly decaying.
The Atlantic label, also due to a very poor familiarity with the Italian bands and scene, didn’t renew Agorà’s contract and the group disbanded after a final appearance at the Parco Lambro Festival in 1976, with their various members that dispersing in many other jazz bands, in some cases up to the present day.
“Agorà 2” still sounds wonderfully today, and deserves a respectable place within a serious Italian progressive rock discography. The album is here reissued on LP for the first time ever, in a faithful reproduction of the original edition of ’76.

Eden’s Island

Born George Alexander Aberle in 1908 and later adopted and raised under the name George McGrew, Eden Ahbez is regarded as a precursor to the hippie generation. Ahbez claiming that only the words God and Infinity were worthy of capitalization; approached Nat King Cole in 1947 and offered him his composition “Nature Boy”. The song was a big hit for Cole and was also covered by many artists. It became the best known song by the man who lived in communion with nature under the Hollywood sign in L.A.: he wore sandals, long hair and was a vegetarian.

Ahbez would supply more material to Cole, but he also recorded the amazing album you hold in your hands in 1960. The missing link between beatnik poetry and exotica sounds, Eden’s Island didn’t sell good back in its day, but has since become a very sought after piece among collectors and a source of inspiration among musicians – here’s your chance to understand why.

Edip Akbayram (1974) (CD)

Edip Akbayram’s a frail guy who spent his childhood unable to walk, but once he grew up he was on Istanbul TV in a whitey-fro and knee length colored robes. Akbayram’s voice is big & open, and it took him all across Turkey at the height of Anatolian psychedelia.
This 1st album collects precious singles from 1972-74, with dark melodies that descend in loose spirals, seemingly forever. Tunes taken from mystic Sufi poets who played the ba?lama, but retrofitted with hard plowing electric bass lines, funky drums, fuzz-wah guitars and keyboards.

Nedir Ne Degildir? (CD)

As Turkey’s political factions turned more and more violent in the late 1970s, Buscemi-eyed Edip Akbayram was nearly beaten up by rioting audiences for daring to sing about rural points of view that were naturally critical of Istanbul’s political leaders. This second album of Anatolian psychedelia, originally released in 1977, showed defiance even in its gatefold art, with a drawing of the band members seeming to grow straight out the ground, covered in plant tendrils.

Akbayram poached members of Mo?ollar and Bari? Manço’s Kurtalan Ekspres to get the best fuzz breaks and hammond slams & put ’em straight in your ears. The band also tried out some mixes that pushed the vocals or a particular instrument way up front, and of course long, low, reverberant welcomes from Edip’s echo-covered voice.

B-sides from hard to find 45s that never made onto albums during singer Edip Akbayram's psychedelic period with the awesome Dostlar as backing band.

A tiny guy with a great big, easy, open voice, Akbayram glues together disparate arrangements that put ridiculous analog synthesizers up next to mystic poetry that's hundreds of years old. Anatolian melodies are enveloped by western touches, like breakdowns for cosmic whispering, slammin' organ, or wild phasing effects on folk instruments that were never meant to support them.
