Live My Life is a great compilation of songs by the late great rapper 2Pac. It’s prime West Coast hip hop that first arrived back on CD in 2005 and now thanks to the Wax N’ Stacks (Cult Legends) label gets pressed up to a limited 180 gram gold vinyl. It features some of his lesser-known gems and plenty of big-name peers from his 90s heyday such as his great pal Notorious BIG, Snoop Dogg and Nate Dogg, Ed Bone, Mil & Young Sly and many more. It’s a great reminder of one of hip hop’s many great but sadly lost talents.

Beyond Belief

Although Beyond Belief was completed in only a handful of all-night sessions, 38 Spesh and Harry Fraud took their time crafting this high level Hip-Hop music. Harry didn’t simply send Spesh a folder of beats to rap to, Spesh made the trip to Harry’s lab, and all the beats and lyrics were created on the spot. Fans and critics agree that this 10-track offering is some of the strongest work in both artists’ catalogues. The LP boasts monster tracks like “Speshal,” “Band of Brothers,” and “Warm Winter.”
Guests on the album include Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Stove God Cooks, Ransom, Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Jim Jones, and ElCamino.

Bitch Betta Have My Money

AMG (whom The Source called “more foul mouthed than a late 70s Richard Pryor concert film”), was a part of Courtney Branch and Tracy Kendrick’s Total Trak Production crew which developed DJ Quik, 2nd II None, Sylk Smoov, Hi-C and Boss. He made his first appearances on DJ Quik’s debut album Quik is The Name.
In December of 1991, AMG released his self-produced debut solo album Bitch Betta Have My Money with the platinum selling lead single of the same name. This reissue has this West Coast 90s classic on vinyl for the first time since its initial release and includes “I Wanna Be Yo Ho (Remix)” previously available only as a CD bonus track.

The underground hip-hop collective Griselda has long established itself as a go-to source for the classic hardcore sound of 90s hip-hop artists like Mobb Deep and Raekwon, and unrelentingly gritty boom-bap production, and Benny The Butcher is one of the group’s most proficient contributors. Now signed to Def Jam, Benny began leaving his mark on the underground as far back as 2004 and has made his incomparable, street-savvy presence known on tracks by the likes of Ghostface Killah, Paul Wall, Jim Jones, and a slew of other top-tier rappers. His 2017 mixtape Butcher On Steroids is just one example of Benny’s raw power and lyrical deftness. Long Live DJ Shay is a celebration of the legacy & impact of DJ Shay, not only for B$F and Griselda, but for his lasting impact on the culture. Shay met Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, and Westside Gunn in the 2000s, and began a bountiful collaboration of producing, recording, and managing them, forming a brotherhood that lasted until his untimely demise. He recognized the incredible talent in these three rappers early on – and other artists that entered the B$F and Griselda fold – and championed them unconditionally as the rest of the world caught up.
